The two suspects, a minor and a 30-year-old man from Hoorn, are suspected of involvement in murder/manslaughter or unlawful deprivation of liberty resulting in death. The suspects are in custody and under restrictions. This means they can only have contact with their lawyer. On Thursday, July 3, they will be brought before the examining magistrate who will decide whether they need to remain in custody longer.
On May 21, another suspect was arrested, a 23-year-old man from Hoorn, on suspicion of (at that time) attempted murder/manslaughter or unlawful deprivation of liberty resulting in serious bodily harm. He is still in custody and currently the suspicion against him is murder/manslaughter and unlawful deprivation of liberty resulting in death. The courts advisory chamber decided in early June to extend his pre-trial detention by 60 days.
