Around 2:00 AM, we received multiple reports of a loud bang at Rembrandtplein. Upon arrival, it was confirmed to be an explosion. The blast caused smoke and significant damage to the building. No one was injured. We are continuing the investigation into the circumstances of the incident. An extensive search in the area has unfortunately not yet resulted in any arrests.
Danger
Placing explosives is dangerous, as it poses a serious threat to business owners, residents, passersby, and emergency responders at the scene. Heavy illegal fireworks, jerrycans with flammable liquids, or homemade explosives do not belong in public spaces—where people work and live—and create life-threatening situations.
