At around 5:30 PM on Sunday afternoon, the police officer was riding his motorcycle during his shift on Willem van Noortstraat when he was hit by a delivery van. The driver, a 36-year-old man from Utrecht, has been arrested. The victim has been seriously injured and taken to the hospital. The police are investigating the traffic accident. It is also being investigated whether the driver was under the influence of narcotics. The suspect has since been released pending the investigation.
