At around 9:00 AM, officers received a report from the Belgian police about a suspect fleeing in the Tilburg area. Officers spotted the vehicle and immediately pursued it. During the escape attempt, the suspect collided with another vehicle, but fortunately, no injuries occurred.
Helicopter Assisted Search
On Burgemeester Letschertweg, the man exited the vehicle and ran into a nature reserve. Multiple officers were called in to assist with the search. Meanwhile, the nature reserve was cordoned off by police. A police helicopter was deployed to help locate the suspect.
Suspect Found and Detained
While officers searched the nature reserve, other officers saw a scooter on Vloeiveldweg. A man covered in mud was riding the scooter. The man matched the suspects description. After investigation, it was confirmed that this was indeed the suspect. He was arrested for multiple offenses, including driving the wrong way, fleeing after a traffic accident, driving with a confiscated license, and handling stolen goods.
The suspect is a 39-year-old man from Eindhoven. He was taken to the police station and is currently in custody. The Dutch police continue to cooperate with the Belgian police.
