Police Investigation in Terneuzen Nearly Completed

Following the discovery of two bodies in a house in Terneuzen, the police conducted an extensive investigation into the cause of death and the circumstances. It has been established that there are currently no indications that the woman and the girl were killed by a third party.

On Monday, October 6, 2025, the police found the deceased woman (29) and her daughter (5) in a house on Vincent van Goghstraat. It was clear that they had died from violence.

Forensic specialists were conducting trace investigations in the house until Tuesday evening. At the request of the public prosecutor, a Major Investigation Team was also working on this case. Various family members and witnesses were interviewed, and the police also conducted a neighborhood investigation. Furthermore, the bodies of the victims were examined.

Based on the investigation results so far, the police and judiciary currently believe that no third party was involved in this tragic incident. The investigation is not yet fully completed.

The relatives were informed on Thursday by family investigators about the preliminary outcome of the investigation. Out of respect for the relatives, the police will not share more information.
