Witnesses and Involved Parties Sought for Pursuit in Rotterdam

On Monday, November 24, 2025, a 37-year-old man from Rotterdam was arrested at 3:30 AM for very dangerous driving, and his drivers license was confiscated. The next day, he was allowed to leave the police station and was picked up by a family member at the Doelwater station. While the family member was outside the car talking to the police, the suspect jumped behind the wheel and fled at high speed. A police pursuit ensued. During the chase, the suspect hit two people and several cars. The police are investigating and seeking witnesses and involved parties.

The pursuit started at Doelwater and he drove towards the Coolsingel. At the Coolsingel-Doelwater intersection, he hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian was injured but did not require ambulance personnel examination. Then a police chase ensued towards Rotterdam-Zuid, during which several parked and moving vehicles were hit and multiple people had to jump aside. At Vuurplaat, the suspect hit a man in his mobility scooter, causing him to fall. The scooter driver was injured and examined by ambulance personnel. Subsequently, the suspect came to a stop at the Polderlaan-Noordpolderstraat intersection, colliding with a police vehicle. No officers were injured. The suspect was boxed in and arrested.

During the pursuit, the suspect hit multiple cars, causing damage. The police ask the owners of these cars to file a report. The police are also looking for people who had to jump aside for the suspect. The pursuit took place between 13:40 and 14:00 from Rotterdam Centrum to Rotterdam-Zuid.
