The investigation began after officers received a report around 9:00 AM that a man in a car on the Ringweg A10 might have a firearm in his hand. Shortly thereafter, officers saw the vehicle in question - with two occupants - driving on the Prins Bernhardweg in Zaandam. The officers initiated a stop procedure and aimed their firearms at the duo. After searching and inspecting the car, the officers found a significant amount of drugs in the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the suspects homes, even more drugs were found, along with a firearm and ammunition. These have been seized. Forensic investigation is currently examining what types of drugs were found and how much was discovered.
Administrative Report
The police are preparing an administrative report for the municipality. This could lead to administrative measures against the resident.
