Cold Case Sjaak Gerwig Thirty Years: Dare to Report

It has been 30 years since 18-year-old Sjaak Gerwig from Utrecht disappeared without a trace. He was found after four days, brutally murdered. The perpetrator has never been caught. Is 2025 the year this will change? The investigation team hopes so and is bringing the case back into the spotlight.

One evening in 1995, Sjaak walked from his home on Rijnlaan to visit his girlfriend further in the Baarsstraat neighborhood. He was supposed to return home afterward but never arrived. It is believed he was murdered that same evening. A few days later, Sjaaks body was found in the water at Laagraven between Utrecht and Houten.
