Police officer is a versatile profession. Across the country, new officers are being trained to gain knowledge and experience in many areas, including traffic. For this reason, a group of police students from Breda organized a general control on Tuesday, September 9, in the parking lot next to the football stadium in Breda. They were assisted by specialists from the traffic team and colleagues from customs and the tax office.
40 Fines
Between 2 PM and 10 PM, dozens of cars were checked by the students. A total of forty fines were issued for various reasons, including:
- The fact that several drivers had their mobile phones in their hands
- Some cars were not in the correct technical condition, such as having worn tires or malfunctioning lights.
- Four drivers were suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
- A 39-year-old Belgian was arrested because a quantity of soft drugs was found in his car that was more than for personal use.
The students were able to enhance their knowledge with this control and gained experience in addressing people.
