Several officers rush to the AZC in Middelburg. There they find a man with a stab wound. Paramedics treat the victim. A trauma helicopter also arrives. The victim is then urgently taken to the hospital.
 

The police immediately begin an investigation. Officers speak with witnesses and review CCTV footage. After the investigation, the police obtain a name and description of someone who was involved in the incident.

The police search for and find the suspect around 04:00 in the center of Vlissingen. The police arrest him and investigate his role in the stabbing. The 36-year-old man from Middelburg is still in custody and is being interrogated.
 

Earlier in the evening fight
On Friday evening, July 18, shortly before 22:00, the police had already been at the same location. There had been a fight then. The police are investigating whether the fight and the stabbing are related.
