Original reporting:
From quietly studying to being beaten up moments later by two youths. This happened to a boy last January. He was in the library at Oosterdokskade that day. He was studying in the quiet room and spoke to some youths who were making noise. When he left the library to get some food, he was awaited by two boys. They beat him up there. The identity of one of the suspects is now known, but the other suspect is still being sought. Do you know who this person is? Please contact the police.
While people are studying, a number of youths feel the need to disturb the peace in the quiet room of the library. Security speaks to them about it, but they do not change their behavior. Then the later victim also addresses the youths, again without result. For security, this is the last straw. They expel the youths from the library. The youths leave the building but linger at the librarys exit.
At the moment the victim leaves the library, two boys from the group approach him. After exchanging a few words, the victim is pushed, punched, and kicked. Eventually, the boys run away when security comes.
The identity of one of these two suspects is already known to the police, while the other suspect is still being sought. The suspect has had a few weeks to come forward. Since he has not come forward and the identity has not been made known in any other way, we are now posting the footage with the person identifiable in it.
