After extensive investigation, the detectives tracked down three new suspects. The arrest team apprehended three men in the early hours, as they were allegedly involved in the kidnapping of the 24-year-old Breda resident. The suspects are a 21-year-old man from Made, a 24-year-old man from Roosendaal, and a 20-year-old man from Breda.
What Happened Before
On the night from Friday to Saturday, February 1, 2025, a 24-year-old man was kidnapped on Dr. Schaepmanlaan. Several individuals wearing balaclavas and armed are said to have taken the victim in a van, after which all trace of them disappeared. The police acted immediately to find the man alive. About 24 hours later, the injured victim reported to the police.
Two days after the kidnapping, the police arrested a 24-year-old man from Zundert. In the following days, the police arrested three residents of Breda aged 24, 26, and 37. The two 24-year-old suspects are still in custody. The other two suspects have since been released but remain suspects in the investigation.
Drug Conflict
As the investigation progressed, more facts and circumstances came to light. There is a suspicion that several violent incidents occurred in the Breda area as a result of a long-running drug conflict. Family members of those involved have also been threatened.
The investigation is still ongoing. The three men who were arrested today are under strict restrictions and will be presented to the examining magistrate this week.
