The explosion caused a fire at the front facade of a commercial building. When the officers arrived on site, an investigation was immediately started.
Cyclist sought
During the investigation, CCTV footage emerged showing a cyclist passing by just before the explosion. The cyclist came from the direction of PJ Smitstraat and cycled along Burgemeester Uilkensstraat towards Parallelweg. The cyclist wore a hood and had a distinctive crate on the back of the bike.
Witnesses sought
