At the control room, a report came in around 1:25 AM that a suspicious person was seen near Heiningen. Shortly after, a loud bang was heard and a car was on fire. At the scene, officers saw a car speeding away. Officers initiated a pursuit and stopped the driver on Laagsehoeflaan. The man was subsequently arrested as a suspect in the arson and is now in custody for further investigation.
Multiple Car Fires
In recent weeks, several car fires have occurred in Bergen op Zoom. The investigation team is looking into these fires. Currently, there is no indication that this suspect is involved in previous car fires.
