The police have launched an extensive investigation into the various fires. Among other things, six cars, two waste bins, a playground equipment, a rain barrel, and a shed have burned out or suffered fire damage.

Very likely arson
The cause is still under investigation, but given the circumstances, we currently assume that it is arson. The fires not only cause significant damage, but they are also extremely dangerous when they spread to homes, impacting the sense of safety of local residents.

Investigation
Today, forensic investigations are being conducted at various locations. We are also taking reports and conducting neighborhood investigations. The fires occurred on Burgemeester Reynderstraat, Lyceumlaan, and Burgemeester van Sevenhovenstraat, on the night of Wednesday, August 13 to Thursday, August 14.
