The driver, a 49-year-old man from Moergestel, was driving in the wrong direction on the A58 around 6:00 PM. He collided with multiple vehicles. The driver was injured and transported to the hospital. Occupants of the other involved vehicles were also injured but fortunately did not require hospital treatment.

After the accident, police received information from the family that the man had two minor children. Since they were not with him at the time, officers went to the residence on Janus Rooijakkersstraat in Moergestel. At the home, they found two seriously injured children, a girl and a boy. The children were urgently transported to the hospital.

Investigation Underway
The police have launched a major investigation into both the traffic accident and the incident involving the children. Witnesses are being interviewed, camera footage is being secured and reviewed, digital investigations are underway, and the Forensic Investigation team is conducting extensive forensic research. The possible involvement of the 49-year-old man is also being investigated. He will be questioned later in the day.
