On Monday evening, January 26, around 11:00 PM, two individuals were walking on It Spoekepaad just outside Garyp. Shots were fired at these individuals from a vehicle using a firearm. No one was injured. The suspects fled the scene by car.
Arrest of suspects
Around 12:30 AM on Tuesday, officers found the car matching the description of the vehicle from the report on Prins Bernhardstraat in Burgum. Two people were inside the car. During a search of the vehicle, a firearm was found. Both individuals, a 38-year-old man from Groningen and a 33-year-old man from the municipality of Leeuwarden, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the shooting incident. The police are investigating the circumstances.
