The report of the incident was received by the control room at 9:55 PM. The victim had arranged a meeting at the parking lot to purchase a car. At the location, he was threatened with a firearm, a tire of his vehicle was punctured, and he was assaulted. Pepper spray was also reportedly used. The suspects fled with thousands of euros. At that time, only a description of them was known.
Muddy License Plate
Earlier that evening, officers had stopped a vehicle that stood out due to a license plate covered in mud. Although the behavior of the occupants made the officers suspicious, there was no immediate reason to take further action. When the theft report came in, officers immediately connected it to this earlier stop.
The vehicle in question was then entered into the ANPR system. Within fifteen minutes, the car was spotted and officers were able to stop the vehicle. The occupants fled into the bushes. After a short chase, they were arrested.
Search
No weapon was found during the arrest. A dog handler, together with his service dog, searched for a possibly discarded weapon, but none was found. However, officers did find a significant amount of money.
The arrested suspects are a 40-year-old and a 49-year-old man, both without a fixed residence. The police are continuing their investigation and do not rule out further arrests.
