The Belgian police received a report on the morning of August 16 that a deceased person had been found just over the border crossing at Hazeldonk in Belgium. Both the Belgian and Dutch police are investigating the circumstances, and a Major Investigation Team (TGO) has been established in The Hague for this purpose.
All information is welcome
From the investigation, it has emerged that the victim was from Suriname and had been staying in Almere and Amsterdam before his death. The police are making a strong appeal to anyone who spoke to the victim before his death or may have seen him somewhere. It may also be that people have information in another way that could be important to this investigation.
If you have information that may be important to this investigation, please contact the police via the tip line (0800-6070). If you want to speak confidentially with the police, you can also contact the National Intelligence Team (088-6617734).
