The discovery was made following an anonymous tip. Various illegal fireworks were found in the storage unit. Fireworks of the F3 hazard category were also stored in the basement box. Officers also found fireworks that were tied together. In total, 82 kilos of fireworks were removed by a specialized fireworks transporter. All seized fireworks will be destroyed.
Fire and explosion hazard
Storing large quantities of fireworks in homes or basement storage units is extremely dangerous. The fire and explosion risk is enormous and poses a great danger to nearby residents. Fireworks are often stored in hazardous conditions, increasing the danger. Checking basement storage units for fireworks is therefore a focus area for the police.
Two individuals have been designated as suspects and are invited for questioning at the police station.
