Anonymous Reports
Earlier this year, we received several anonymous reports about drug trafficking via Meld Misdaad Anoniem. The police launched an investigation and identified five locations that may be linked to these reports of drug trafficking. Several potentially involved individuals also came to light. On Wednesday morning, May 21, the police decided to enter the five locations.
Different Types of Hard Drugs, Large Amounts of Cash, Equipment for Cannabis Cultivation
In the early morning, a residence in Elst, a residence in Veenendaal, two residences in Wageningen, and a storage box in Ede were checked. Large quantities of various types of (hard) drugs were found in all residences. Additionally, tens of thousands of euros in cash were discovered. The storage box contained cannabis and equipment used for cannabis cultivation. Various phones were also seized.
Five Men Arrested
In total, five individuals were arrested: three men aged 20, 28, and 29 from Wageningen, a 29-year-old man from Elst, and a 28-year-old man from Veenendaal. Their involvement and relationship to each other are being further investigated by the police.
