The police have conducted extensive research into a report of care fraud that was received by the police in 2021. It concerns fraud with personal budgets. The report also mentioned deprivation of liberty. The investigation into this report is therefore in full swing.
More Cases
Further investigation has revealed that the 52-year-old man and the 51-year-old woman from Vries are also suspected of other cases involving care fraud, forgery, and fraud. The police have conducted further investigations. The 59-year-old man from Assen has been arrested for involvement in care fraud.
Tax Fraud
The Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD) is also investigating the arrested suspects. They are looking into whether tax fraud has been committed. It is suspected that the suspects intentionally did not file income tax returns and that the business did not pay payroll taxes.
Seized
Various goods have been seized during the searches. This partly concerns conservatory seizures and partly goods that are important for the ongoing investigation. The arrested suspects are in custody and are being interrogated. There are restrictions in place, preventing them from having contact with each other.
