On Friday, May 16, a 17-year-old boy from Gouda reported to the police station after being recognized as a suspect in the footage of the disturbances. On Tuesday, May 27, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old boy from The Hague were arrested. These three suspects have been heard and released. They will have to account for themselves in the juvenile court shortly.
On Wednesday, May 28, two more arrests followed: a 16-year-old boy from Leidschendam and a 15-year-old boy from The Hague. They are being interrogated and are still in custody.
Disturbances
On that fateful Thursday evening, the situation in Scheveningen got out of hand. Young people turned against the police and threw objects at officers, including stones, bicycles, and glassware. Additionally, objects in the surrounding area were destroyed.
