The control targeted both traffic and rural areas. The authorities jointly checked dozens of cars. Green special enforcement officers (boa’s) supervised the forest areas along the border between Belgium and the Netherlands. The police and customs inspected vehicles on Gorps Baantje.
In addition to the illegal fireworks, customs also found 200 liters of red diesel, 80 to 100 liters of kerosene, and various illegal cigarettes. These violations were handled by customs. The seized fireworks were immediately secured and removed by a specialized transporter for hazardous materials due to the risks to public safety.
Dont risk a fine!
With this joint action, the police aim to increase safety in the run-up to New Years Eve and to take action against the trade and possession of illegal fireworks.
