During the searches of the homes, the police seized narcotics and data carriers, among other things. The suspects are under full restrictions, meaning they can only contact their lawyer. On Friday, March 28, they will be brought before the examining magistrate, who will determine whether they must remain in custody longer. The investigation is currently still ongoing, and for that reason, no further information can be provided.
‘Under Your Nose’
Drug trafficking causes undermining in the Netherlands. It involves serious, organized crime with billions of euros at stake. The illegal proceeds from drug trafficking are laundered. This is not a distant issue. By reporting suspicious situations and irregularities, crime can be prevented or addressed. “Reporting helps,” says the investigation team. “If you have information but find it intimidating to share it directly with the police via 0900-8844, you can also do so anonymously via Meld Misdaad Anoniem (MMA) at 0800-7000. The MMA staff are not police officers or detectives but take your information anonymously and pass it on anonymously to the police.”
