At approximately 10:10 PM, officers received a report that an explosion had occurred at a residence on Lukas Schoonderwoerdstraat. The residents had already largely cleared the area, making forensic investigation impossible at that time. Although the house suffered significant damage, no one was injured. A witness reported seeing someone running away shortly after the explosion. No arrests have been made so far.
Following the explosion, the mayor of Hillegom decided to urgently close the house for a period of six weeks.
