Near Nieuwegein, around 04:00 AM, a truck and a delivery van collided. Both vehicles caught fire. The truck driver escaped with minor injuries. Unfortunately, help arrived too late for the two occupants of the delivery van, and they did not survive the accident. The traffic investigation team from the Central Netherlands unit is investigating the tragic incident. The A2 highway was partially closed for a long time on Saturday for all traffic.
