11-Year-Old Victim of Shooting Incident Asterlo Passed Away

On Thursday afternoon, March 13, the 11-year-old boy from Hoogvliet-Rotterdam passed away, who had become a victim of the shooting incident at Asterlo in Rotterdam on February 16.

Playing with a Firearm
The police are still conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. The most likely scenario is that a group of friends was playing with a firearm, during which an accidental shot was fired, hitting the 11-year-old boy. The scenario of intentional violence between youth groups has been ruled out.

A total of seven minor suspects have been arrested in the investigation. Of those, two are still in custody. They are boys from Rotterdam aged 15 and 16.
