The accident occurred around 3:30 PM. The officers in the car were responding to a call. The car crashed into a tree, injuring the officers. The pair was taken to the hospital for examination and treatment. One officer has since been discharged from the hospital.

Staff from Forensic Traffic Investigation and Traffic Investigation Team conducted an investigation at the scene. The road was closed for some time but has now been reopened.
