At around 04:40 AM, the police received a report of a burglary on Hoogbrugstraat. A patrol arrived quickly and saw the four individuals getting into a car and driving away. This initiated a chase towards Lage Barakken, which stopped at the intersection at Bourgognestraat due to a collision with the service vehicle. Two individuals then fled on foot and were shortly thereafter found on Sint Maartenslaan.

Two suspects were taken to the hospital for necessary medical care. The colleagues in the service vehicle were checked on-site by the ambulance. They also experienced complaints but did not need to go to the hospital.

Forensic Traffic Investigation from another unit will investigate the collision.
