The police received a report of a fire at Pastoor Pottersplein on Thursday night, May 8, 2025, at 00:43. Police officers arrived on the scene immediately, along with firefighters and paramedics.

The residents had already gathered outside as high flames shot from the building. The ambulance checked the residents, but no one was injured in the fire.

Arson

Witnesses suspected that the fire was set deliberately. The police took statements and arrested a suspect, a 54-year-old woman from Breda. How the fire was exactly set is still under investigation by the fire department and the forensic investigation team. The suspect has been taken to the police station for questioning.
