Police investigations revealed that the packages were sent from Spain. The packages were sent to six service points in Hoorn and one service point in Wognum. These were ultimately intercepted by the police.

Drugs sent by mail is illegal

The police warn against sending or receiving drugs via postal packages. This form of drug trafficking is illegal. Increasingly, drugs – often hidden in packages from abroad – are sent to the Netherlands via regular courier services. However, postal packages are strictly checked, traced, and intercepted. The chance of getting caught is high and involved persons risk prosecution and a criminal record. Therefore, do not allow yourself to be used or tempted to make your address available for such shipments. You are committing a crime and face serious risks.

If you have information about drug trafficking or receive suspicious packages, report it to the police at 0900-8844 or anonymously via Meld Misdaad Anoniem (0800-7000).
