Notably, in all these burglaries, the window was smashed, after which the suspect climbed inside to steal items or money. Thanks to surveillance footage, it quickly became clear who the suspect was. The man was arrested Thursday afternoon in a house in Breda.
Burglaries
The burglaries began last month. On March 17, a case was vandalized at Planciusplein, and goods were taken. Two days later, on March 19, there was a burglary at a hairdressers on Boschstraat.
Again, two days later, on March 21, there were burglaries at a thrift store on Beverweg and a thrift store on Riethil. On March 22, there was a burglary at a restaurant on Haagdijk, but also at a building on Donk, and in the early morning of March 23, there was a burglary at Christiaan Huygensstraat. Prior to that last burglary, there was also a break-in at Epelenberg, but the suspect reportedly left without any goods because someone was still present in the building. On March 26, there was a burglary at a cafeteria on Terheijdenseweg and on April 5 at a car dealership on Regenbeemd in Breda. On April 7, there was a burglary at Charleroistraat, and 3 days later, on April 10, there was a burglary at a business at Brabantplein. On April 16, there was another burglary at the same bakery on Charleroistraat. On April 18, there was another burglary at a building on Haagdijk and on April 20 at the Moerwijk shopping center. On April 20, a vehicle was stolen on Trekpot; this vehicle was also found and returned to its rightful owner.

The 49-year-old suspect from Vught is suspected of this long list of burglaries. He may also be responsible for other burglaries in the area. He is in custody for questioning and will be presented soon.
