On May 21 and 22, various integral inspections and criminal searches took place in the Eindhoven region and from the local team De Kempen. Together with the KMAR, Team Infra (LX), Intervention Team Undermining & Drug Transport (IOD), and Administrative Intervention Teams from our local teams, dozens of businesses and properties were visited and many vehicles were inspected.
The integral inspections and visits were conducted to exclude undermining practices while simultaneously creating awareness and resilience, broadening the network, and gathering information. This is how we combat and disrupt undermining crime.
Arrests
During the action days, 16 individuals were arrested for various offenses including outstanding prison sentences, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, drug trafficking, and violations of the Weapons and Ammunition Act. Additionally, 120 fines were issued for various traffic violations such as not wearing a seatbelt, running a red light, holding a mobile phone, and driving without a license.
Moreover, various goods were seized, including a vehicle, hard drugs, preparatory materials for drug trafficking, and several (stab) weapons and live ammunition.
Undermining; a risk to society
Undermining is a significant societal problem. The profits for criminals are enormous. This form of crime causes serious undermining of our society. The big money also creates a huge attraction, both for criminal networks and for young people who are drawn into crime as a result. A lot of money also means that the stakes for criminals keep getting higher.
