The suspects assaulted a 16-year-old boy from Venlo on the afternoon of January 24 and beat and kicked him due to his sexual orientation.
The incident was triggered by a rumor that had been spread about the victim. The incident took place at the Werf in Venlo, near the Maas. One of the suspects was reported to be wearing an ankle monitor, which was confirmed upon arrest. The suspects have been arrested and will have to answer to the judge at a later date. All suspects have since been released, but the suspect with the ankle monitor will be brought before the examining magistrate.
Because both the victim and the suspects are minors, no further details can be provided.
