The police received a report of the explosion at around 02:50 at a house on Stompersdijk. Shortly after, at around 03:00, an explosion at a house on Fazantlaan was also reported. The houses sustained damage as a result of the explosions, but no injuries have been reported so far.
Danger Assessment
The placement of explosives is dangerous, and the danger posed to entrepreneurs, residents, passersby, and emergency responders is understandably great. Heavy, consumer-prohibited fireworks, jerrycans with flammable liquids, and homemade explosives create life-threatening situations and do not belong in public spaces.
Witnesses
The police are investigating the circumstances of both explosions and would like to get in touch with witnesses. Did you see anything unusual on the night of Wednesday, August 27 to Thursday, August 28 in the vicinity of Stompersdijk or Fazantlaan?
