Around 4:00 AM, residents of the apartment were startled by a loud bang, followed by a cloud of smoke. The bang severely damaged the front door of an apartment on the fifth floor; the frame was dislodged and the window shattered. The police cordoned off the area as a precaution. Forensic experts conducted a trace investigation at the site. No one was injured in the explosion.

Bushes
After an extensive search in the area, officers found two suspects dressed in black in the bushes of the playground near De Grote Wielen. The duo, aged 15 and 16 from Amsterdam, has been detained for further investigation. Despite the arrests, residents are being asked to come forward with any camera footage. Explosions
The safety region of Amsterdam-Amstelland has seen many incidents involving explosive devices this year. This is concerning, as the danger posed to businesses, residents, passersby, and responders on the scene is understandably significant. Heavily illegal fireworks, jerrycans with flammable liquids, or homemade explosives do not belong in public spaces - where people work and live - and create life-threatening situations. This must stop. The police are working hard to track down suspects involved in this form of excessive violence. This has already led to multiple arrests, convictions, and significant prison sentences. However, to track down the perpetrators, the police need the help of local residents. After all, they know their neighborhood best. If something seems off in the streetscape, they are the first to notice. Therefore, passing information to the police is crucial.
