Shortly after 11:00 AM, a report comes in of a collision on the Gooilandseweg near Weesp between a motorist and a motorcyclist; it involves an off-duty police officer. Bystanders immediately begin resuscitation, which is later taken over by emergency services. Unfortunately, the help is in vain, and the police officer dies at the scene from his injuries. The motorist, a 56-year-old man, is also injured and is treated in the hospital for his injuries.

The Traffic Accident Analysis (VOA) of the police is currently investigating the circumstances of the accident. The road has therefore been closed for some time.
