Recently, the Den Haag police unit received multiple reports of doxing: the online sharing of personal data, presumably with malicious intent. This led the police to start an investigation, resulting in several accounts being taken offline where photos, names, and other personal information of individuals from the Iranian community were shared. The police urge people to stop sharing personal information. Arrests are not ruled out.

Doxing is illegal
Doxing has been illegal since 2024 and can severely disrupt the life of a victim and their surroundings. Online content left behind is very difficult to remove, causing victims to be intimidated for a long time. Think carefully about what you share online. Are you a victim of doxing or do you encounter doxing online? Report it to the police via 0900-8844.
