On Monday evening, November 3, 2025, around 7:30 PM, a man was robbed of his money by one suspect under the threat of a firearm. During the robbery, the victim was sprayed in the face with pepper spray. After the suspect took the money, he got into a waiting car which then fled the scene. The license plate was registered by the automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), which triggered a hit on the A2 highway towards Utrecht. Several hits followed, and the vehicle was spotted by officers on the N279 near Heesdijk-Dinther in the province of North Brabant. After a pursuit, the getaway car stopped and officers initiated a dangerous persons approach technique (BTGP). Five suspects were talked out of the vehicle and arrested around 9:15 PM. The stolen goods were fully recovered and 3 cans of pepper spray were found. No firearm was found.

The suspects were taken to the police station and presented to the Deputy Public Prosecutor, who later placed them in custody.
