The demonstration during the information meeting at Lieve Vrouwenplein about the potential establishment of an asylum seeker center generally went peacefully. We only arrested a man for public intoxication. Since the area was designated by the mayor as a security risk area, we were allowed to conduct preventive searches. No particularities were found during those preventive checks. After the demonstrations, however, a group of rioters sought confrontation with the police, overturned fences, and threw fireworks. The riot police had to intervene to restore order. A total of 7 individuals, both adults and minors, were arrested, coming from Oss, Berghem, Gorinchem, and Nijmegen. They have all since been released. A report is being drawn up against them.
Doxing
On Wednesday evening, we arrested a 64-year-old man from Uden, who is suspected of doxing. He is suspected of having posted images of a police officer online with the intent of uncovering their personal information. These images were possibly taken a week earlier, during the demonstration in Uden on April 9. The man is currently in custody for further investigation.
What is doxing?
Doxing is simply the malicious gathering or further dissemination of someones personal, sensitive, or private information such as home address, phone number, a photo, passport, employers name, and family details or combinations thereof.
