Around 1:30 AM, the stabbing incident occurred that Saturday night at a hospitality business located at the Zuiderpoort. Shortly after, the police received a report of a man walking on the nearby A2 highway. This man turned out to be the suspect of the stabbing incident. The 31-year-old man from Schagen was immediately arrested.
The victim received necessary medical care on site. He and his colleagues were also put in contact with victim support. The investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing. As part of this, surveillance footage is being secured and potential witnesses are being interviewed.
