Press Safety
The police and Public Prosecution Service attach great importance to a free press in the Netherlands that can work unhindered and safely. If a journalist is confronted with violence, we prioritize the investigation and prosecution of the suspect. The Dutch Association of Journalists (NVJ), the Association of Editors-in-Chief, the Public Prosecution Service, and the police also collaborate in the Press Safety project. The aim is to strengthen the position of journalists against aggression and violence.
