The perpetrator gained entry to the home through a distraction technique, after which the victim was forced at gunpoint to open the safe.
During the investigation, detectives identified a 15-year-old suspect linked to several similar distraction scams. On Tuesday, December 2, it became clear that this suspect had also been active in Leeuwarden, where a similar scam had occurred. Later that day, the 15-year-old suspect from Amsterdam and a 21-year-old co-suspect from Amsterdam were arrested. The minor suspect remains in custody and will be brought before the juvenile court.

Suspect Arrested for Home Robbery on Amsterdamseweg

On Friday, November 14 around 9:00 PM, an armed home robbery occurred on Amsterdamseweg where an 89-year-old resident was threatened with a firearm. The victim was robbed of jewelry worth approximately 50,000 euros.
