The police conducted the raid following an investigation into large-scale fraud involving packages. In a residence in Ghent, a 21-year-old man without a fixed address was arrested with the assistance of the Belgian police. Shortly after the raid, the second suspect, a 21-year-old man from Groningen, was arrested in Leeuwarden.

At the locations of the raids, multiple goods were found that may have originated from fraud. These goods have been seized and are being investigated.
