At the end of the football match Telstar-FC Den Bosch, some supporters of the home team entered the field. While the vast majority celebrated after the victory, about ten supporters headed towards the away section. Almost immediately after, supporters from the away team also entered the field, leading to a confrontation between both groups of supporters. This escalated into fights, and a large group of individuals committed public violence resulting in two injuries. One person was treated on-site by ambulance personnel. The other injured person did not require medical treatment.
Stewards from Telstar were present to maintain order. They subsequently received assistance from the police. Ultimately, the groups of supporters could be separated from each other, and public order in the stadium was restored. No arrests were made at that time.
Police Start Investigation
The police, under the direction of the Public Prosecution Service, has initiated an investigation into the disturbances in the stadium and has various camera footage that is being further examined to identify those responsible for the disturbances. Arrests are not excluded.
Report to the Police!
Although a large part of the suspects had pulled hoods over their heads or had other facial coverings, the police is grateful for all the footage that has been shared so far. We urge suspects who have committed disturbances to report to the police.

The police condemns violence in and around football matches!
Police Chief of the North Holland unit Hamit Karakus: ‘I deeply regret that after the match, a part of the supporters sought confrontation. In our society, there is no room for violence. Given the circumstances and based on the information available, preparations were made for an orderly course of the match. Unfortunately, this does not guarantee that disturbances will not occur. Fortunately, the number of injuries seems to be manageable, and I am glad that our colleagues were not injured. The response to such disturbances puts great pressure on police capacity. It is no secret that we at the police face challenges on this issue. We can only deploy our colleagues once. Now, yesterday, support was provided from multiple basic teams to restore order in the stadium. As a result, these colleagues could not attend to other reports, be present in the neighborhood, or take statements. Aspects that I find very important. We try to find a balance between being present at football matches and our other core tasks. Such disturbances must not become the new normal. Together we can ensure that norms and values return to everyone in and around the football stadium.’
