The report of the stabbing incident came in around 10:45 PM. A dispute had arisen between two boys in the restaurant, which then escalated into a fight. The suspect subsequently stabbed the 17-year-old victim with a stabbing weapon. An employee of the restaurant tried to calm the situation, but all efforts were in vain. The suspect then fled in the direction of Markendaalseweg.
Two bystanders, a nurse and a medical student, immediately provided first aid while multiple police units arrived at the scene. Officers took over the assistance, after which the victim was urgently taken to the hospital. The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and are searching for the perpetrator.
