The Zeeland detective team started an investigation after receiving information about the theft of NFTs. It concerns 169 stolen NFTs with an estimated financial gain of 1.4 million euros. With permission from a examining magistrate, detectives entered a house in Axel this week and seized various data carriers, money, and three vehicles. The house was also seized. An NFT is a unique digital certificate of ownership associated with artwork, music, video, and similar items. NFTs can be stolen from crypto wallets through phishing, hacks, or malicious smart contracts, often because hackers gain access to private keys.
