The girl and her mother were in the Zuiderpark that fateful Tuesday afternoon. After the girl was out of sight for a few minutes around 4:30 PM, she told her mother that a man had been touching her in the bushes. The police were called, and an investigation was immediately launched. Evidence and footage were secured. Additionally, various people were interviewed. Supervision in the park was immediately intensified, both visible and undercover.

But despite all efforts, this has not yet led to a good description or an image of the possible suspect. It was nice weather and busy in the park that afternoon. Therefore, we urge people who have not yet spoken to officers to come forward.

Who knows more?
We are looking for a man with a light skin tone, a black/gray beard, similar to the color of his head hair. He has green/blue eyes and is probably older than 35 years.

The girl was wearing a sleeveless dark blue dress with white unicorns and white sandals.

Impact

A sexual offense case is profound and impactful for victims, and in this case, particularly for the girl. She and her mother are currently receiving the care that is important. Sexual crime investigators have received specific training to interview victims and suspects of such crimes. They are also very aware of the impact on victims and directly involved parties. Due to their privacy, we are cautious in the information we share.

We can well imagine that visitors to the Zuiderpark are also concerned. Therefore, officers remain present in the park, both visibly and undercover. If anyone sees something suspicious in the park, always contact the police directly via 112.
