This control was organized by Team Traffic Zeeland-West Brabant, in collaboration with various partners, including Team Transport and Environmental Control, the RDW, and the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority. The goal of this action was to improve traffic safety, with particular attention to the technical condition of vehicles, load securing, and compliance with driving and rest times.
Identified Violations
During the checks, various violations were identified that could endanger the safety of both truck drivers and other road users. In total, fines were imposed for these violations amounting to approximately €20,000. Below is a detailed overview of the identified violations:
- Technical defects in vehicles:
- 2 x the Erru fact E884A - fine of €2,150 per vehicle
- 1 vehicle had serious technical defects, including rust on the chassis, broken brake lines, rusty brake booster, and a worn coupling eye. The driver was not allowed to continue driving and was escorted by the police to a workshop.
- 1 vehicle had cracks in the cross beams, torn spring brackets, and broken rims. This vehicle was sent directly to the workshop and received a WOK status (Waiting for Inspection).
- 3 x violation of load securing + measure on site (amount determined by the public prosecutor)
- 1 x missing mudguard – fine of €190
- 1 x air suspension not working – fine of €190
- 1 x no transport permit – fine of €4,400
- 1 x no transport permit present in the vehicle – fine of €700
- 4 x slick tires + measure on site replaced – fine of €190 per vehicle
- 1 x leaking airbag – fine of €190
- 1 x too low light transmission of side windows (28%) – measure: remove film, fine of €310
- 1 x sharp parts on the vehicle – fine of €310
- 3 x missing protective caps on tires – fine of €310 per vehicle
- 3 x overloading (5%, 10%, and 18%) – fine determined by the public prosecutor
- 1 x trailer not LZV approved – measure: uncoupling, fine of €1,500
- 1 x oil leakage on the cardan, contaminating the brake disc – measure: directly to workshop, fine of €310
- 2 x vehicles too high (4.31 m and 4.48 m) – measure: unload to 4 m, fine of €1,200 per vehicle
- 1 x defective steering balls on the dolly – fine of €310
- 1 x non-compliant LZV signs – fine of €190
- 1 x use of mobile phone while driving – fine of €430
- 2 x the Erru fact E884A - fine of €2,150 per vehicle
